IIMA follows a unique application process for its PGPX programme. The process is unique compared to the process followed by other similar programmes you may be applying to.
Unlike other schools that require you to submit application essays alongwith the application, IIMA does not require the essays with the application. They ask for essays only from applicants that make the first shortlist for the personal interview.
The first shortlist is announced only on the basis of the information you fill in the application form that relates to your academic background and professional experience. The application forms have to filled online.
There are two application rounds. You will pay a lower application fee amount (Rs.5000) if you apply in the first round by 29 August 2017 as against if you apply in the second round (Rs.7500) by 2 November 2017.
You can expect the first shortlist to be announced around mid-September for round 1 and early December for round 2. The email informing you of the shortlist will give you the date for the personal interview, documents you need to carry, the essay questions and also a date to submit the essays. While you can expect the interviews to take place in October for round 1 and December for round 2, the final admission decisions are likely to be announced by second week of November or last week of December for rounds 1 and 2 respectively.
You can expect to receive about ten days from the time that you receive the shortlist email to submit the essays online.
The essays required to be submitted in the previous years are here:
(1) What do you expect to gain from the PGPX course at IIMA?
