Essay 1: If we were to admit one more student to the class of 2012, make a compelling argument as to why that student should be you? (300 words max)

EssayLever Tips:

Business schools admit future business leaders. Show how you have demonstrated potential to become one. Prove your leadership potential. Recall instances where you created an impact and when you went beyond what was expected of you. A couple of examples such as these would prove to the admissions committee that you will continue creating the same level of impact even in the future and that you are the kind of student they would like to admit.

Essay 2: What are your short term and long term goals? How will the ISB help you achieve the same? (300 words max)

EssayLever Tips:
  • Show that you are aware of what you want in your career - that the decision to apply to a business school is an intelligent one based on an assessment of your interests and abilities and not because an MBA is a nice tag to have.
  • A career in business and management is too broad. Get specific. Share what you want to do immediately after graduating and show why. Answer the question: How will your post-MBA job take you to your long-term goals? Why are these plans right for you/how did you build these plans?
  • Why can’t you achieve these plans right now? What specific aspects of the ISB program will help you achieve them?

  • Essay 3: Please provide additional information, that will significantly affect the consideration of your application to the ISB. (300 words max)

    EssayLever Tips:

Write this essay only after you have written the first two. What can you say in addition to what you have already shared in the first two essays that will project you as a suitable candidate?

    You could write about:

  • A significant strength
  • Your past academic accomplishments
  • Your accomplishments in an extracurricular or community setting. Stay away from phony involvements. Don't include extracurricular involvements just because everyone says you must. Include them only if you have passionately pursued them in your life. Don't try to fool the admissions committee. Trust us, you won't be able to.
  • Something unique in your background or abilities that will contribute to the diversity in the program.
