Michigan Ross Essays
1. Introduce yourself to your future Ross classmates in 100 words or less.
2. Describe your career goals. How will an MBA from Ross help you to achieve those goals? What is your vision for how you can make a unique contribution to the Ross community? (500 word maximum)
3. Describe a time in your career when you were frustrated or disappointed. What did you learn from that experience? (500 word maximum)
4. Select one of the following questions:

• What are you most passionate about? (300 word maximum)
• Describe a personal challenge or obstacle and why you view it as such. How have you dealt with it? What have you learned from it? (300 word maximum)
5. (Optional) Is there anything else you think the admissions committee should know about you to evaluate your candidacy? (500 words maximum)

Writing Tips and Suggestions:

Introduce yourself to your future Ross classmates in 100 words or less.

Make this the last essay you write. After you decide the content of all the other essays, identify important aspects that you haven't shared about you as yet. Make this the central theme of this essay and present it as an introduction of yourself.

Describe your career goals. How will an MBA from Ross help you to achieve those goals? What is your vision for how you can make a unique contribution to the Ross community? (500 word maximum)

Logically connect your past experience with the short-term goals and the short-term goals with long-term goals. Show how your professional strengths, abilities and interests are ideally suited for the career you have chosen. Identify the skills and experiences you need to build up in order to achieve the goals and show how specific parts of the program will help you acquire them. What extracurricular activities do you see yourself pursuing during the program and how will these contribute to your learning objectives.

3. Describe a time in your career when you were frustrated or disappointed. What did you learn from that experience? (500 word maximum)

Choose an experience when you tried your best but still couldn't achieve your objectives. Explain the situation, the challenges you faced, the efforts you made and the results you achieved or did not achieve. Looking back, what did you learn from the experience?

4a. What are you most passionate about? (300 word maximum)

What do you love doing the most? How did you develop the love, how does it benefit you in your life?



4b. Describe a personal challenge or obstacle and why you view it as such. How have you dealt with it? What have you learned from it? (300 word maximum)

Compared to question 3, where you will talk about an obstacle you faced but couldn't completely overcome, in this question, you will talk about an experience where you faced obstacles and successfully overcame them. Explain the situation, the challenges you faced, the efforts you made and the results you achieved. Looking back, what did you learn from the experience?
